Delete Your Data

How to remove your location history and all data stored by Locus.

What data does Locus store?

Locus stores all data locally on your device — nothing is ever uploaded to a server. Here is what is stored:

Location history
GPS coordinates and timestamps of visited places
Place names
Reverse geocoded addresses from Nominatim
Points of interest
Nearby POIs fetched from Overpass API
Descriptions
Wikipedia summaries associated with places

✦ All data is stored in an SQLite database in the app's private storage on your device. No data exists on any server — deletion is immediate and complete.

Delete data from within the app

You can delete your data at any time without uninstalling the app:

  1. Open Locus Launch the app on your Android device.
  2. Go to Settings Tap the settings icon in the navigation bar.
  3. Select "Delete all data" This permanently removes your entire location history, saved places, and all enrichment data from the local database.
  4. Confirm the deletion The action is irreversible. Consider exporting a backup first if you want to keep a copy.

Complete removal — uninstall the app

Uninstalling Locus from your device permanently deletes all stored data, including the SQLite database, log files, and any exported backups stored in the app's private directory.

  1. Long-press the Locus icon On your Android home screen or app drawer.
  2. Select "Uninstall" Confirm the uninstallation when prompted by Android.

⚠ Uninstalling is permanent. All local data will be destroyed and cannot be recovered.
